Last year we got our hands back on our CD inventory. This year, we re-acquired our vinyl inventory. Prescription for Sleep: Celeste was a first for the series as we collaborated directly with Lena Raine who provided track commentary and context, but also because violinist maiko joined GENTLE LOVE for the first time to create a jazz trio. We also have multiple options: there is the limited opaque pink version photographed above, the “strawberry red” regular edition (we think they look more like hot pink/pink), and a limited edition CD version that comes with pink foil print and a 20-page booklet with commentary, interviews, comics, and a sticker sheet. #2: Defenders of the City CD
Super MadNES

Southern California metal band Super MadNES knows how to rock with their cleverly-themed albums. Defenders of the City brings together super heroes from across arcades, including hits from Ninja Gaiden, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Double Dragon, Robocop, and more. The album is available in CD format and you can even bundle it with band T-shirts. Celebrate game music, metal, and arcade games with Defenders of the City!

#3: Zelda & Jazz Vinyl
GameChops

While the third album in this incredible jazz series is currently being manufactured, we thought it was a good time to dive back in with the debut album that started it all. The Deku Trio pays tribute to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time with relaxing jazz arrangements on a beautiful green marble vinyl. Check out all three Zelda & Jazz albums, but definitely take advantage of this beautiful physical tribute to the Zelda franchise.

#4: Undertale EP CD
The OneUps

The OneUps are our favorite game music cover band. They released a short-but-sweet surprise with an EP dedicated to music from UNDERTALE. Even more? It’s only $1! I recommend picking up this and all of their albums. There’s even a few copies of their 20th anniversary commemorative vinyl titled 20 still available.

While not game music, game music fans should know and love the music of Hiroyuki Sawano. GENTLE LOVE makes its first foray into anime with this brown “meat” swirl 2xLP. Also, doesn’t the above give a new meaning to Scarlet MOON? You won’t be able to unsee that now, sorry!

#6: Ballads of Hyrule Piano Reflections Vinyl
ROZEN

ROZEN has combined selections from Ballads of Hyrule and Ballads of Hyrule II into an even cozier compilation with eleven delicate and comforting piano arrangements that will immerse you in a nostalgic experience. This collection of emotional piano pieces is a great companion for cozying up during cold weather.

#7: piano realms: azure Vinyl
Mecha Dream Records

This album is a stunning tribute to water levels in videogames with reflective piano arrangements by David Peacock and performances by Augustine Mayuga Gonzales. There are multiple color variants, all of which look incredible, and we can’t recommend this one enough.

#8: Music from Ys – Ancient Ys Vanished Cassette Tape
Wayô Records

The original Ys soundtrack by Yûzô Koshiro, Mieko Ishikawa and Masaya Hashimoto is legendary. Having it on limited edition cassette tape is even more awesome! Our friends at Wayô Records released the first two Ys soundtracks on tape, so we recommend picking them up as the perfect stocking stuffer!
